What does a dermatologist do?
A dermatologist is a specialty doctor that treats skin related problems, cancers, and other problems that can affect your largest organ (your skin). Dr. Murphy is a university trained, board certified dermatologist. That means she is a medical doctor and has completed an internship in a three year university directed advance training in dermatology.
When should I see a dermatologist?
At some point in your life, there will come a time when you should see a dermatologist. For some people, the teenage years bring about problems with acne that require a professional, specialized doctor to help treat. Other times, you may be worried about skin cancer and need a skin cancer screening. And there are also times when we just want you to look better and lose those wrinkles that have popped up over the years. There are many reasons to see a dermatologist, and if you are wondering if you should or not, we recommend that you give us a call.
